Montana Legislature to Announce Funds for Montana Internet Providers

Grizzly Broadband is Soon to be Awarded Contracts to Build High-Speed Internet in Ravalli County

During COVID it became starkly apparent that Montana’s internet infrastructure could not meet the needs of workers, students, and families sheltering in place. In response, the 2021 Legislature passed and Governor Gianforte signed SB297 creating the ConnectMT Act. This would allow Montana internet service providers to apply for funds from Montana’s American Rescue Plan Act that would enable them to build the infrastructure to provide internet access to Montana Residents in areas classified as Underserved, Unserved, and Frontier.

Grizzly Broadband LLC applied for contracts in six areas of Ravalli County. The application and challenge window has closed and the Communications Advisory Commission will release the winners of those contracts soon.

Grizzly Broadband LLC would like to thank the Communications Advisory Commission for their efforts in this historic work that will greatly serve the residents of Ravalli County for years to come.
